1H 2024 saw new registrations of pesticide technical material (technical concentrate): Glufosinate-P, chlorantranilipro and prothioconazole respectively representing 3 pesticide categories

This article reviews the new registrations of pesticidal technical material (technical concentrate) in China in the first half of 2024, presented to pesticide manufacturers or companies for reference. 

In the first half of 2024, a total of 97 registrations of pesticidal technical material (technical concentrate) were granted (refer to the table below for details), which include 90 registrations of pesticidal technical material and 7 registrations of pesticidal technical concentrate, of which herbicides appeared in the lead accounting for 45.36%.

Among the registrations of herbicide technical material (technical concentrate), a total of 44 registrations of herbicidal technical material (technical concentrate) were granted. These include 42 registrations of technical material (seven for export only) and seven registrations of technical concentrate (one for export only). Glufosinate-P-ammonium has the largest number of registrations (eight), followed by Glufosinate-P, Topramezone, Glufosinate, Tembotrione, Tebuthiuron and Pyroxasulfone.

There were 24 insecticidal technical material registrations, including one acaricide. It is worthy of note that chlorantraniliprole is still prevalent in the registration of insecticides, accounting for more than half of the insecticide registrations. 

There were 14 registrations of fungicidal technical material (technical concentrate), including 12 registrations of technical material (two for export only) and two registrations of technical concentrate, among which prothioconazole has the largest number of registrations.

There were also 14 registrations of technical material regulating plant growth, and three registrations of resistance inducers.
