Syngenta France and Agriodor announced the signing of a partnership to collaborate on an innovative project to develop an allomone that acts against sugar beet aphids.

The collaboration brings together the expertise of Syngenta, a leader in crop protection and biosolutions, and of Agriodor, an innovative company specializing in biocontrol solutions based on scents naturally emitted by plants.

Xavier Thévenot, Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Syngenta, said, ″This partnership is part of our belief in open innovation with innovative companies, to accelerate the development of biocontrol solutions for the major issues facing French farmers. We are delighted with this collaboration agreement, which will help solve a major technical problem for beet trees within the framework of a combinatorial approach.″

Alain Thibault, CEO of Agriodor, said, ″We are happy about this partnership agreement, which will provide an effective solution that will enable French beet growers to combat the scourge of beet yellows. This agreement with Syngenta is part of the policy that we follow at Agriodor, which is developing solutions to combat insect pests then deploying them with the assistance of large groups specializing in crop protection and biosolutions.″
