"The strategy is to centralize management to accelerate the adoption of biological control and expand the company's presence in these countries with physical proximity," explained André Martins, general manager of Koppert Andina.
With the start of commercialization in South America of bioinputs produced in Brazil which is expected at the end of this year, Koppert aims to increase its local revenue by 10%.
About 30 people work in the Andean countries, and the staff is expected to be expanded in 2026.
The agriculture in the Andean countries differs from that in Brazil, as it is based on fruits, ornamental plants, and vegetables in protected cultivation, in addition to coffee and sugarcane.
According to Martins, bioinputs from the Netherlands will continue to be part of the portfolio in these countries, totaling around 30 products.
"We will also market three Brazilian biologicals, Trichodermil (Trichoderma harzianum), Boveril Evo (Beauveria bassiana), and Octane (Isaria fumosorosea)," the general manager of Koppert Andina said in conclusion.
