Recently, in the Chinese provinces of Jiangsu and Anhui, Corteva Agriscience launched its new product Suiyan, which uses prothioconazole as active ingredient for control of wheat diseases. The product is a prothionazole 75% WG formulation for control of wheat scab, providing a new choice for control of wheat scab.

According to Corteva, with apparent advantages, Suiyan is a prothioconazole 75% WG formulation based on spray drying process, as being EU technical equivalence determined and processed at high standard. The prothioconazole 75% WG is of high content, high purity, high effect of control, excellent type of formulation, fast dissolution, which is fit for aerial applications. It is of an obvious advantage in application to high incidence areas of wheat scab, such as Jiangsu province; it is free of cross resistance with the common fungicides for scab control such as phenamacril, tebuconazole and prochloraz. This fulfills farmer’s desire for satisfactory effect of control, high efficiency and yield increase, making the product farmer’s most preferred choice for control of wheat scab.

As a typical reflection of Corteva’s farmer-centric agrotechnical service concept, immediately after market launch, Suiyan wins favor among crop protection experts, distributors and growers, attributable to its properties of high content, multiple disease control and aerial application as well as its effect of control, quality and yield increase.

Corteva says that the scope of use of Suiyan will soon be extended to control of powdery mildew on top of wheat scab, whilst extended registration for use in crops such as rice, maize and grape is under planning. At that time, Suiyan, with flexible formulation of localized solutions, will have a broader prospect in the future.
