ADAMA has commenced production of the active ingredient prothioconazole at its factory located in southern Brazil.

Previously imported from ADAMA's headquarters in Israel, the locally produced active ingredient reduces external dependence on inputs, according to the manufacturer.

In their view, producing prothioconazole in Brazil is "essential for the formulation of fungicides in the country." This molecule is one of the components of the fungicide Almada, which also includes the active ingredients Fluxapyroxad and Mancozeb in its formula.

According to the manufacturer, Almada stood out this year as "the best solution for managing Asian rust, according to studies conducted by plant pathologists from across the country and summarized by Embrapa, showing higher productivity than all its competitors in Brazil."

This is the fourth fungicide launched in the last five years in Brazil with an exclusive formulation from ADAMA, using the T.O.V. technology, which promotes greater adherence to the active ingredients of soybean leaves.

According to ADAMA, this mixture stands out for its ease of application, eliminating the need for adjuvants and demonstrating high efficacy in combating primary soybean diseases.

Ana Colla.jpeg"This market delivery demonstrates the robustness and innovation of ADAMA's fungicide portfolio, which aligns with our supply excellence strategy. In addition to providing agility and reliability in local supply, we ensure quality and cost competitiveness, meeting the growing demand from farmers for solutions to combat Asian rust," highlighted Ana Colla, Operations Director at ADAMA.

Almada also stands out as the only product on the market with a carboxamide, a triazole, and a protector ready for use.

"Almada demonstrates the growing investment in R&D by ADAMA in Brazil, combined with innovation, to deliver the best technologies and tools for Brazilian farmers," he emphasized.

"The fungicide production processes were developed to not only deliver higher formulation quality but also to increase operational safety and sustainability, as we use new components with a lower environmental impact," he added.

For Romeu Stanguerlin, CEO of Brazil and SVP of Latin America, "This local production of Almada is directly related to the pillars of our strategy to be inspired by the farmer and market access, in addition to reflecting our brand promise, delivering what the farmer demands, when he needs it."
