The agrochemical companies face difficulties in importing pesticides due to false research statementsqrcode

26 agro chemical companies that import pesticides to Sri Lanka vehemently rejects the statements made by research groups in the Kelani and Rajarata universities with regard to contamination of arsenic in imported pesticides. At the press briefing held in Colombo today, representatives of these companies pointed out that there is no arsenic in the pesticides used in Sri Lanka. They state that the false statements lead to crisis situation in the agricultural sector. As a result of these statements about 13 containers of imported pesticides have been held in the Sri Lanka custom. The companies point out that this will have harmful effect on the cultivations of upcoming Maha season. The officials of these companies stressed that they are ready to prove the researches conducted by the Kelani and Rajarata universities wrong.
