BSM, Longsheng etc shutdown production because of stricter Covid-19 control measures taken in Shaoxing, China

Recently, there has been a reemergence of Covid-19 in the cities of Shaoxing, Ningbo and Hangzhou in China. On the 9th December, Shangyu District Government of Shaoxing City issued an instruction requesting suspension of all industrial productions within the district for the purpose of prevention and control of the reemergence of Covid-19. It is requested that non-chemical production activities be suspended from 14:00 9th December in compliance with control measures while chemical productions shall stop material feeding from 14:00 9th December, followed by suspension of production in compliance with work safety rules, as well as suspension of any maintenance work. 

So far, some 10 listed companies, including the semiconductor giant JSG, have announced suspension of operation of their factories in Shangyu of Shaoxing. Agrochemical enterprises that operate production facilities in Shangyu include BSM, Yonon, Nutrichem and Yinbang while intermediates enterprises include Longsheng, Zhongxin Fluoride Chemicals, Sinochem Lantian, NHU and Xieshi. BSM announced on 10th December that its Shangyu production base has been temporarily shut down on this date of announcement. BSM has currently two production bases, where Shangyu plant mainly produces pesticide intermediates. Zhejiang Longsheng also announced on the 10th December that all its subsidiaries located in Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone has begun to reduce the load of production, towards an orderly temporary shutdown.
