Koppert, Acadian Plant Health sign commercial partnership in Brazil, plan sales of R$50 million this harvest

Koppert do Brasil, a Dutch multinational, and Canadian Acadian Plant Health do Brasil have signed an unprecedented commercial partnership in Brazil, merging their sales forces from the 2021-2022 harvest, to commercialize R$50 million in bioactivators during the season.

Acadian's products, formulated with the extract of the seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum, will be offered within the Koppert Integrated System, which comprises a mix of biological inputs aimed at increasing the resilience and productivity of the main commercial crops.

Two years ago, Koppert launched two commercial brands of bioactivators – Stingray and Roadster, and positioned Acadian as a supplier to its portfolio of bioactivators. The brands are intended for grain, sugarcane and HF crops in general. “Now, we have decided to integrate the commercial teams and accelerate the business. We also have global synergy for the development of new products and formulations,” explained André Cerignoni, the B2B manager at Koppert.

Bioactivation is in huge demand by producers for all economically important crops and has been showing its viability also in extensive crops, bringing important returns to Koppert customers. “The interaction between companies and technologies has shown positive results in conducting the abiotic stress suffered by plants due to drought or low temperatures, promoting stabilization in the production process,” Cerignoni said.

For Daniel Gheller, marketing and distribution director of Acadian Plant Health, the objective is to combine commercial efforts, using the technical experience and market access structure built by the companies to distribute the portfolio and offer the producer a complete package for control of pests and diseases and reduction of stress on crops, contributing to greater productivity and sustainability of crops. "We want to combine and offer two scientifically proven technologies, bioactivation and biological control, for producers who are looking for a sustainable model to obtain higher yields with profitability."

Bioactivators

Acadian Plant Health is a global leader in the research and development of products exclusively based on Ascophyllum nodosum, recognized worldwide for promoting the growth of plants and improving their resistance against abiotic stresses and increased productivity.

The products can be used in cereals, sugarcane, fruits and vegetables, in the planting furrow and  foliar applications, ensuring fast crop establishment, better use of nutrients and water, in addition to increasing crop quality and productivity.
