To further help soybean growers, the Soja Brasil Strategic Committee (CESB), which constantly promotes the best soybean techniques in the country, signed a partnership with CropLife Brasil, an institution that brings together companies that invest the most in research, development and innovation for plant protection and improvement in different agribusiness production systems.

Producing more without increasing the area under cultivation is one of humanity's greatest challenges. For the average productivity of soybeans in Brazil to exceed 60 bags per hectare, the combined use of technologies and the dissemination of best agricultural practices to all soybean farmers is necessary.

The use of modern technologies and the construction of more sustainable soils are key elements in the successful formula used by 216 producers who participated in the Maximum Soy Productivity Challenge in the 2019-2020 harvest. This select group of soybean farmers reached average productivity of 90 bags of soybeans per hectare (ha), that is, 35 bags/ha above the national average today of around 55 bags/ha.

Keeping that in mind, Leonardo Sologuren, president of the CESB, expected the partnership to expand the access of the productive system with strategic information that can help to increase the productive average of cultivation in an intelligent way. “The action aims to promote an innovation ecosystem aimed at high productivity, as well as foster socioeconomic development. The partnership between the CESB and CropLife Brasil should stimulate the agricultural sector through the sharing of knowledge and the transfer of modern technologies,” he added.

According to Christian Lohbauer, president of CropLife Brasil, the partnership with the CESB is well aligned with the mission of CropLife Brasil and aims to promote “best practices” in agriculture. “CropLife Brasil's mission is to work for the defense, adoption and encouragement of innovation in plant protection and improvement technologies that promote agricultural sustainability, that is, the combined use of chemical pesticides, biological products, biotechnology, certified seeds and agriculture digital. The CESB and CropLife Brasil are joining forces to promote events, develop studies, surveys, research, digital solutions, communication actions and programs aimed at deepening technical and scientific knowledge in favor of national soybean production,” he said.
