Syngenta in North America has announced federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration of Sierra herbicide, enabling the business to further expand its portfolio of grass and broadleaf weed-management options for U.S. wheat growers.

Sierra controls a broad spectrum of grass and broadleaf weeds in winter wheat, spring wheat and durum. State registrations may still be pending. Please check with your state regulatory agency to determine registration status.

“This new herbicide will help growers manage the complexity of weed control in wheat and offer a new resistance-management tool for control of ACCase-resistant wild oat and green foxtail,” said John Foresman, herbicide brand manager, Syngenta. “In addition, Sierra helps provide growers with customized weed-control solutions to help protect their valuable wheat crop investments.”

Sierra enables growers to customize grass and broadleaf weed-control solutions on a field-by-field basis and provides the tank-mix flexibility needed for one-pass weed control.

flucarbazone-sodium, the top-performing active ingredient in Sierra, offers excellent control of some of the most troublesome grass and broadleaf weeds in wheat,” explained Don Porter, herbicide technical brand manager, Syngenta. "In addition, Sierra contains built-in safener technology, providing excellent crop safety in spring wheat, winter wheat and durum."

Sierra provides excellent rotational crop flexibility for the following season.
