The Campo Limpio organization in Argentina has managed agrochemical packaging in the province of Buenos Aires weighing 253 tons in the first half of 2020, which was an increase of 7.2% as against the entire 12-month period last year, when it was 236 tons.

The organization, which implemented a comprehensive management system for the recovery of empty phytosanitary packages is carrying out numerous activities in the main Argentine province, with a “strong commitment to caring for the environment, conduct training regarding the effective management of packaging and collecting the greater amount of the Buenosairean ground.”

The 2020 and 2021 action plan was presented by the Campo Limpio S.G.E. and the Provincial Agency for Sustainable Development (OPDS). Both parties were committed to working together to achieve compliance with all actors in the program.

Campo Limpio has carried out numerous actions in the province of Buenos Aires, among which the operation of nine transitory storage centers is the best example. In turn, retreats were carried out by centers authorized by the OPDS and 24 mobile campaigns throughout the province between January and June 2020.

In other actions to monitor the movement of packaging throughout the country, work is being carried out on a project to implement a tracking system for agrochemical packaging from Campo Limpio.

Besides, training and awareness campaigns are carried out in conjunction with the companies that are part of Campo Limpio, governments and other actors, emphasizing each other's responsibilities in the process.

Progress has also been made in agreements with distributor chambers at the national and provincial levels. This allows for the implementation of the Integrated Management System for Empty Phytosanitary packages regulated by Law 27, 279 on minimum environmental protection budgets.
