Nortox the only Brazilian agro industry operating on three business platforms: pesticides, fertilizers, seeds
Apr. 28, 2020
On 14th April, Nortox completed 66 years of activities and celebrated its status as the largest Brazilian manufacturer of pesticides. In addition, the company stands out for acting strongly in the vegetable and seed nutrition sectors.
“Today, Nortox is the only Brazilian industry in the agro sector that operates on three business platforms: pesticides, fertilizers and hybrid corn and sorghum seeds. Completing 66 years of work is a rarity among the country’s national industries, especially in our sector, where all players are multinationals that operate in Brazil,” Marcelo Poliseli (Nortox Marketing Manager) said.
The company added that it has the most complete portfolio in Brazilian agriculture. Nortox currently has three industrial units in Brazil, which are its headquarters in Arapongas (Paraná) and two other industrial plants in Rondonópolis (Mato Grosso) and Serrana (São Paulo). In addition, Nortox has sales representatives in all Brazilian states, directly employing around 650 people.
Nortox began its expansion in the international market in 2017. The company already opened operations in Paraguay and Chile, and has future expansion plans for Colombia, Peru and Uruguay.
In the socio-environmental area, it has launched various initiatives, such as the Olho D’Água Program, which has already restored over 800 mines and springs in the states of Paraná, Goiás and São Paulo. In addition, it sponsors projects such as the Youth Orchestra of Nova Mutum (MT), the Crescer Project (Arapongas-PR) and the Veleiros da Ilha Sailing School (Santa Catarina). Together, the three projects benefit more than a thousand children and adolescents.
“With a history marked by great challenges, Nortox also published a message to farmers, their customers and suppliers on the effects of the global Covid-19 pandemic, to reaffirm its confidence in Brazil and in the future, stressing that while millions of people must isolate in their homes, many others need to work to guarantee basic supplied on the table. It is like this in the field, where producers are continuing to work from day to day. It is also like this for transport companies, the food industry, supermarkets and companies like Nortox, which are part of the production chain and compete directly for the performance of Brazilian agribusiness,” Nortox stated.
“For this reason, Nortox supports producers and serves its customers, suppliers and partners. By helping to sow, protect and nourish Brazilian crops, Nortox is helping millions of people to guarantee food security, especially at such a critical time, for our country and the entire world,” it added.
