Seipasa, the Spanish company specialised in the development and formulation of biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers for agriculture, has presented its biostimulants catalogue for the Chilean market.
The launch event took place in the form of a workshop held with Suez in Santiago de Chile, which brought together representatives from the industry, the university, irrigation associations, agricultural exporters and public entities. It is to be noted that Suez, a multinational of French origin with 160 years of experience in sustainable, efficient management of national resources, is Seipasa’s distributor for its products in Chile following the alliance announced by the two companies in January of this year.
According to José Luis Egas, Seipasa Sales Manager for Latin America, the aim of this workshop has been to highlight the commitment of both companies to innovation by presenting Seipasa’s product portfolio in Chile.
As he explained, this portfolio comprises a set of biotechnological solutions with an extensive, international track record, that has been tested and applied in agricultural systems throughout the world. “Seipasa is a global company with a range of more than 40 phytosanitary registrations in 14 countries worldwide. All of this has enabled us to build up a vast pool of knowledge and experience, a continual exchange of information that is part of the process of the continuous improvement of our products’ efficacy and performance”.
The initial range of Seipasa products launched in Chile comprises Bryosei, a sprouting and vegetative growth promotor; Kynetic4, a biostimulant to improve blooming and optimize fruit set; Seiland, a formula designed to strengthen roots and activate biological soil processes, and Sweetsei, a product designed to promote fruit maturation and swelling.
As underlined by José Luis Egas, the short-term objective is to introduce and position this range of products in the Chilean market. The product portfolio will be extended once all the procedures that Seipasa is carrying out to obtain new plant protection registrations have been completed.
Innovation in agriculture
Under the title: “Maximising production in conditions of stress”, the workshop examined the key aspects of the R+D+I model developed by the two companies in the agricultural market. Javier Nácher, Seipasa’s Chief Technical Officer, presented the Spanish firm’s experience of biocontrol and biostimulation strategies for the production of zero-residue fruit, vegetables and cereal crops, while Marta Pérez, Suez’s Market Development Manager, explained about the importance of generating sustainable agricultural solutions in conditions of water scarcity.
