Brazil has approved for use those products already registered in the country based upon the active ingredient spinetoram, in a concentration of 250g/Kg. The decision comes from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), and was published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU) on January 9, 2020.

The insecticide can now be used to control leaf miners (Liriomyza sativae) and Amauromyza maculosa in chrysanthemum seedlings. In this case, the use is exclusively for exports to European Community countries.

In Brazil, spinetoram has been endorsed by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) for other crops, such as vegetables (pumpkin, potatoes, beets and tomatoes). It also has been recommended for crops, such as cotton, coffee, sugar cane and corn and fruit (plum, citrus, watermelon and grape), among others.

Four products with the active ingredient spinetoram are registered in Brazil:
