Indian company MCF to manufacture new pesticide

Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF), the only manufacturer of chemical fertilizers in the state, will start manufacture of pesticides under the popular brand name `Mangala in the next financial year.
Deepak Anand, managing director, MCF, told TOI the company will use "toll manufacturing process till it is viable to have their own set up. The company has already identified three units, one each in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, for the process. "We may go in with the state unit as we familiar with the manufacturer, he said.
"It will be marketed under the brand name `Mangala which is familiar with the end users, and that, apart from our marketing and distribution network, will be our USP, Anand added.
MCF currently has entered into supply of products for plant protection (pesticides) and the turnover is about Rs 10 crore.
