XAG's new XPlanet combines intelligence, atomisation, and flight

China-based company XAG is growing a name for itself, recently displaying a series of fully autonomous drones and farm monitoring sensors at Agritechnica, in Hanover, Germany.
Founded in 2007, XAG now has laboratories and research stations in 38 countries, and is focused on developing technology to address plant protection, crop monitoring, and farm management. Its unmanned aerial system XPlanet combines atomisation spraying and intelligent spreading technology to seed, fertilize, and spray at centimetre-level accuracy, the company says.
“This drone has a perfect balance between efficiency, precision, and safety,” says XAG’s Olivia Zhou, adding it’s also the largest drone they’ve ever designed without sacrificing agility.
Zhou says the company’s technology has helped to defeat fall armyworm in Zambia, helped bees in pollination work in Australia, and restored degraded grassland in China.
