BASF is raising its prices for ethylhexylamines and carboxylic acids, which are used in agrochemical production. The company cites high raw material and energy costs, and a sustained demand for these products, for driving the increases. BASF has upped the prices of two of its carboxylic acids: 2-ethylhexanoic acid (2-EHA) and propionic acid, by Euro 40 ($60.5) per tonne in Europe with immediate effect. The company claims to be one of the world's leading 2-EHA producers and the leading supplier of propionic acid. It produces 2-EHA at its German Ludwigshafen site, while it manufactures propionic acid in Germany and in Nanjing, China. The company has raised its European ethylhexylamine prices by Euro 50/tonne, or equivalents in national currencies as contracts allow, for 2-ethylhexylamine and for di-2-ethylhexylamines with immediate effect.
