BioWorks announces the addition of ON-Gard® CALCIUM, and organic biological plant nutrient, to their Canadian product line. The new product (1-0-0 + 5% Calcium) is a unique liquid calcium formulated with plant derived soy protein hydrolysate and calcium chloride for the treatment and prevention of calcium deficiency in all crops. Soy protein hydrolysate increases uptake efficiency of calcium by plants, according to independent research conducted by John Helm at Western Ag. Research.

"We're thrilled to offer ON-Gard CALCIUM to the Canadian growers as a cost-effective solution," said Anna Chapman, BioWorks Technical Services Manager. "The soy protein hydrolysate doubles the uptake efficiency of calcium by plants, so you can spray at a lower rate and have less residue than traditional calcium foliar sprays."

ON-Gard CALCIUM is useful in ornamental and vegetable production on both organic and conventional crops. Use of the product reduces crop loss associated with calcium deficiency, improving the yield and quality of fruits and vegetables. ON-Gard CALCIUM produces less mineral deposits than other calcium fertilizers and its higher dilution decreases risk of phytotoxicity injury.

ON-Gard CALCIUM is compatible with most fertilizers, chemicals and biological products and is an excellent tank-mix partner with a wide range of products. The product is available in 9.46, 19 and 113 Liter sizes.

BioWorks sells a full line of biologically-based products throughout the US and Canada for disease control, insect control and plant nutrition.
