CropLife Asia Announces New Board of Directorsqrcode

CropLife Asia announced a new line-up for the organization’s governing Board of Directors. Included in the changes to the Board’s makeup was the installation of Ms. Bethwyn Todd of FMC Corporation as CropLife Asia President.
 
Ms. Bethwyn Todd is the Asia Pacific President of FMC Corporation. Appointed to this position in 2014, Ms. Todd is responsible for delivering the company’s regional strategy and overseeing the growth of the business in Asia-Pacific. A highly experienced international business executive, Ms. Todd has held leadership roles in five different countries in her more than 20-year career. She was previously the Global Business Director of FMC Professional Solutions, Seed Treatment and BioSolutions while based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA).
 
The other new appointments to the Board of Directors include the roles of Treasurer and Secretary.
 
Mr. Jens Hartmann, Region Head, Asia Pacific with Bayer Crop Science, will now serve as Treasurer while Mr. Alexander Berkovskiy, Regional Head of Syngenta Asia Pacific, will now serve as Secretary to the Board. Additionally, Mr. Ishimoto Yasuhiko, Vice-President, Health & Crop Sciences with Sumitomo Chemical Asia, and Mr. Peter Ford, the Asia Pacific President of Corteva Agriscience, will serve as their organization’s representative to CropLife Asia’s Coordinating Council.
 
The current roster for the CropLife Asia Board of Directors is as follows:
 
·         Ms. Bethwyn Todd (FMC), President
·         Mr. Gustavo Palerosi Carneiro (BASF), Vice-President
·         Mr. Jens Hartmann (Bayer Crop Science), Treasurer
·         Mr. Alexander Berkovskiy (Syngenta), Secretary
 
“The challenges and opportunities for agriculture in Asia are immense, and the role of plant science in helping ensure a sustainable, safe and secure food supply for the region is critical,” said Dr. Siang Hee Tan, Executive Director of CropLife Asia. “At CropLife Asia, we have a collection of strong leaders with experience, knowhow and vision to guide our efforts – and the current makeup of our Coordinating Council is further evidence of that. We are fortunate to have this capable group leading us into 2019.”
 
The Board together with the Coordinating Council will be joining CropLife Asia’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the first quarter of 2019. The AGM will be an opportunity for updates and strategic plans encompassing the year ahead to be shared by the international and regional CropLife organizations as well as many of the 15 national member associations across Asia which CropLife supports.
