China establishes chlorpyrifos consortium

China established the chlorpyrifos consortium at a chlorpyrifos industry development forum on July, 14th in Shandong. 20 chlorpyrifos manufacturers agree that the chlorpyrifos consortiums will extend the life-cycle of the product and improve the competitiveness of Chinese versions of the pesticide in the global market.

With a yield of 70,000 tonnes, China chlorpyrifos industry has already become seriously overcapacity. However, some of the players have recently introduced a more competitive technology-selective chlorination process, which is short flow, low pollution, low cost.

Director-general of the CCPIA Luo Haizhang presents the following operation of the consortium: controlling the over supply of capacity; avoiding the destructive competition among the industry; the discussions on the improvement of the manufacturing technology and environmental issues; struggling against the illegal and counterfeit products; maintaining the market order; collaboration on the qualification affairs.
