Price & Supply: Production shutdown due to hot weather in China, stocks being cleared gradually

Chinese chemical production and domestic supplies have recently fallen, with more factories shutting down production and carrying out maintenance. Lower production rates have also caused continued reductions in stocks. While stocks on the demand side are gradually being cleared and rebuilding inventories has begun earlier than usual. However, due to the uncertainty of raw material supplies and the unwillingness of upstream factories to issue purchase orders, little has changed.
Herbicide Market
This week, the sterilant herbicide market remained largely stable. Further, the reduced storage of amide herbicides is drawing near and inquiries are increasing, while factories are a bit reluctant to accept purchase orders. Sulfonylurea herbicide is in short supply, attributable to restricted production of its upstream intermediates. Production rates are also low, while prices remain on the high side. Prices of fomesafen technical intermediates are high, export appears strong, while domestic consumption has come to an end and stocks are low. Several major product varieties are quoted as follows:

Fungicide Market
The price of fungicide has remained high, as many product varieties are rebounding. Triazole technical materials are affected by the shutdown of production at Lianyungang Chemical Park, and the chlorination process has also been restricted. The price of parachlorophenol has risen significantly, as backed up by the sustained cost of production. There is a shortage of difenoconazole technical, causing a short supply. Pyraclostrobin technical is affected by the rising price of intermediates, and as more factories are shutting down production for maintenance, enterprises are very prudent in accepting purchase orders. The supply of intermediates for azoxystrobin technical has been restricted, resulting in a shortage of goods. Quotations from the market have rebounded significantly.
