Yangnong’s fluazinam SC to be extended for use in potato blight control![qrcode]()

Fluazinam is a novel substituted aniline-based broad-spectrum fungicide, which can be used through foliar spray for the control of grapevine gray mold and downy mildew, apple scab, peanut sclerotium blight and potato blight. For soil treatment, the product can be used for the control of cruciferous vegetable club root, fruit tree root rot, potato scab and powdery scab. It can be also used for the control of apple mite. Fluazinam shows no cross resistance to benzimidazole, dicarboxylic imide and other fungicide products available in the market. The product can inhibit fungal spore germination, hyphae formation and growth, as well as spore formation, thus inhibiting the bacterial infection. The product is effective for both protection and treatment.
Xikaota is a newly launched product by Yangnong Chemical over the last two years, which uses 40% fluazinam SC as active ingredients. Compared with other similar products in the market, Xikaota has the following distinctive features:
1) Higher content: 40% active ingredients (equivalent to 500g/L), which gives better efficacy and fungicidal effect.
2) Unique formula: 97% refined technical material and adjuvant imported from Japan, which ensures efficacy and a prominent effect.
3) The use of environment-friendly aqueous solution: Micro toxicity.
4) The adoption of advanced processing technique: Product particle size is smaller than similar products in the market, which is easy for storage and crop absorption.
5) Assured quality: Bacteriostat EC50 is superior to similar products at home and abroad.
As a prime fluazinam production enterprise, the 40% fluazinam SC of Yangnong Chemical is made using its own technical material. Its subsidiary Youjia Crop Protection has a 600-ton fluazinam technical production capacity located at the Nantong Plant, where the purity of technical material can reach above 98 percent. The secured supply of technical material and the high quality of the product ensure the competitiveness of Xikaota.
So far, Xikaota has been registered for control of cabbage club root. Now, the product is under a trial process to obtain registration for its extended application for the control of potato blight. The test results show that the spraying of Xikaota in the proposed dosage (see figure below) at an early stage of potato blight can control effectively the occurrence of potato blight. The registration of Xikaota for the control of potato blight is expected to be granted in 2017.
