Adama presented in Argentina the fungicide Acadia Bio (tebuconazole + azoxystrobin), which has systemic and contact action with a preventive, healing and eradicating effect.

According to the maker, the product is unique in the market because it has a new anti-stress technology Active Bio, which allows the plant to reduce the harming effects of biotic and abiotic stress. Therefore, this tool offers greater protection and a yield plus.

The crops potential is affected not just by the biotic stress of disease, plague, and weed product, but also by abiotic factors, such as high temperatures, high moisture, and nutrients, among other surrounding conditions. Combined, these factors can limit the potential yield of the crop by up to 77 percent.

The technology Active Bio, developed especially by Adama at its investigation centers of China and Israel, works over the integral health of the plant and reduces the impact of abiotic stress. Acadia Bio is the result of over 120 tests made during five years of diverse regions in the country.

“We understand that a protection from first-level diseases was not enough to help the farmer improve productivity. We should break this barrier and work over the integral health of the plant. In order to do so, we would need to think out of the box and find a tool that would resolve these necessities in one time; which would bring a better control of the disease, help reduce the impact of stress and impart efficiency to plant growth,” said Agronomist Sebastian Coggiola, Development and Strategy Manager at Adama, explaining the path that Acadia Bio has taken, which is a unique product in the market.

According to data from the national network of tests of Adama Argentina, the results achieved by Acadia Bio are the following: in soybeans, 100 percent of the positive cases without treatment, the yield growth achieved by Acadia Bio was an average of 12 percent against absolute testimonies and 4 percent against mixtures of strobilurin plus triazole. In wheat and corn, the yield increase was 15 percent and 3 percent, compared with mixtures.

“The use of Acadia Bio has a positive result for the farmer numbers, with additional revenues that are very interesting, compared with the mixtures, according to our tests. In short, we can say that Acadia Bio Multifunciona imparts more protection, less stress, and higher yields. It is the only fungicide in the market with anti-stress technology for crops and, in some sense, for the producer too,” concluded Coggiola.
