Crystal Crop Protection Ltd is foraying into Karnataka to hardsell five types of pesticides, including insecticides and fungicides, to protect crops and boost productivity, said a company official on Thursday.

“We are introducing five types of pesticides, including insecticide, fungicide and miticide to Karnataka farmers for protecting their crops from pests, insects and other diseases and enhance productivity,” Crystal Managing Director Ankur Agarwal told reporters at a pre-launch event here.

Insecticide controls caterpillars and mites, miticide minimises the menace of mites, azotrix to controls blast in paddy crop, toggle plus is a bio stimulant and a soil conditioner to unlock soil potential and ensure higher yield.

With the latest offerings, the Delhi-based company hopes to strengthen its presence in the southern state.

In 2016, the company introduced seven products that improved the farm landscape across the country.

“We are launching these products to help farmers sustain their crop growth and become prosperous,” said Agarwal.

Miticide is a blue triangle product which will be extremely useful for farmers, especially in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab, where mite infestation is a major problem.

“These new products are part of the integrated crop solutions being promoted by Crystal specialists and will certainly make our offerings to farmers more robust. They will enhance Crystal’s brand value as an established agrochemical that believes in bringing farmers the best of innovations,” Crystal’s Senior Vice President (Marketing) M.C. Shukla said.
