DuPont Pioneer announced the launch of its transgenic soybean 96Y90 with resistance to the cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines), from races 3 and 14. Soybean 96Y90 is a cultivar with a high level of resistance to Diaporthe phaseolorum f. sp. meridionalis (Dpm), as well as tolerance to glyphosate through the technology, Intacta RR2 PRO.

DuPont Pioneer’s new type of soybean is an early cycle cultivar with a high production potential and an adaptability to diverse soil and climate conditions. According to the manufacturer, it is already available for the next soybean crop in Brazil, which is forecasted to start in the month of August in the highest producing regions, from the south to the central parts of the country.

According to Jerson Grieco, Technical Product Manager at DuPont Pioneer, the cultivar has had several evaluations in experimental areas and pre-commercial crop trials, which proved its increased stability and high development capacity in these diverse environmental conditions.

To achieve excellent yields, DuPont Pioneer recommends combining this variety with the option of industrial seed treatment by the company, with the insecticide, Dermacor (Clorantraniliprole), for soybeans, to help control the major plagues in these crops.
