Hokko Chemical set up a subsidiary in US

Japanese company Hokko Chemical announced that it has established a wholly-owned subsidiary, HOKKO CHEMICAL AMERICA CORPORATION, in Cary city, North Carolina, USA. The company has started activities in March 2017.
According to the company’s announcement, the aim of establishment of this subsidiary is to better understanding local market information and sell their own products more directly.
Hokko Chemical has been selling its own developed fungicide "Kasugamycin" in Asia and Latin America for many years. In September 2014, Hokko’s Kasugamycin received registration from US EPA for the control of fire blight on apples, and the product was authorized to Arysta LifeScience North America (now is a business unit of Platform Specialty Products) for distribution in the United States.
Hokko Chemical said, “Considering the importance of America markets, and in order to directly distribute kasugamycin and other newly developed products, such as rice herbicide ipfencarbazone, we decided to have our own base in North America and aggressively respond to the market in North, Central and South America.”
