AgroPages-Canada approves continued registration of herbicide acrolein-Agricultural news

After a re-evaluation of acrolein, the Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed to grant continued registration of products containing acrolein for sale and use in Canada.

Acrolein is a herbicide and slimicide registered for control of vegetation in irrigation canals and control of bacteria and fungi in oilfield water injection systems. There are four products containing acrolein that are currently registered in Canada under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, including one technical grade active ingredient, a commercial class product, and two restricted class end-use products.
