The control of soil insects in corn and sunflower results in losses of plants that could affect yields due to the decrease in stand of plants. The new Mustang Dupont combines many features to achieve greater efficiencies.

When it is necessary to control soil insects, such as bugs in corn, white worm complex and caterpillars, among others, it is common to use pyrethroid insecticide or Chlorpyrifos.

Such treatments can be highly inefficient because the molecules are not specifically prepared to be applied on the soil, as they could adhere to fallow, combined with soil colloids, or be affected by sunlight, losing its efficiency, in addition to the environmental impact.

New formulations, such as oil in water emulsions (EW), are distinguished by their high solubility and areas being retained in the fallow; also, they can be washed away very easily and do not undergo photodegradation solar action, while reaching the soil surface quickly.

Mustang® DuPont is an insecticide with zetamethrin EW, one of the most stable and most active ingredients in the "Knock-down"; (Knockdown power) market. It is ideal for treatments with fallow soil surfaces, and is not as retained therein, and it is especially recommended for controlling cutworms and bug horns, along with weevil borers.

Among the recommendations to keep in mind before choosing a soil insecticide in crops of sunflower, corn, soybeans or cotton, are:

-Levels of purification of pyrethroid isomer used in its formulation.
-Octanol / water coefficient, in relation to its action and stability.
-Levels of solubility and availability to penetrate fallow and quickly reach the habitat of the species to be controlled, and not adhering to fallow.
-Level of penetration into the cuticle of insects, so as to improve control efficiencies, particularly caterpillars present in soils with high load fallow, called "Knock-down".

All these features are combined in Mustang® DuPont, which provide a solution in the deployment of crops, where the initial losses of plants mean a reduction in kilos produced and less profitability.
