MANA Crop Protection
introduces Pruvin rimsulfuron">rimsulfuron herbicide for control of some of the toughest broadleaf and grass challenges to tree, nut and vine crops, field corn, and non-crop areas.

"Pruvin provides long-lasting control of barnyard grass, pigweed, morningglory, fleabane, marestail, mallow, kochia and numerous other weeds that can literally wreck a field," said Dave Downing, senior marketing manager for MANA herbicides. "This is a high-quality dry flowable formulation that like all MANA products, delivers the performance growers need and at a bottom-line friendly cost."

Pruvin is quickly absorbed through roots and foliage of selective weeds, rapidly inhibiting growth. The residual control helps save the time and expense of additional passes across the field.

Pruvin is an ideal choice for weed control in established permanent crops such as grapes, stone fruit, tree nuts, apples and citrus.

"Growers of these crops will like what they dont get with Pruvin - no spring application cutoff dates, no fruit scarring, no injury from in-season applications, no volatility issues," said Downing. "Pruvin is not a restricted-use product, and the pre-harvest intervals are a short 3 to 14 days depending on the crop." "Pruvin offers flexibility of timing and tank mix partners. It can be applied to field corn, tomatoes and potatoes in pre-emergence, post-emergence or split applications," said Downing. "It can be used alone or in combination with other labeled soil residual and burn-down products, which can extend the residual activity, broaden the weed spectrum targeted, and improve control of susceptible weeds."

Pruvin is sold in a convenient 15-ounce plastic bottle and contains rimsulfuron, the same active ingredient in Resolve DF and Matrix.

Pruvin also may be used for weed control along roadsides, highway medians, at industrial plant sites, and at utility substations.

"This is another excellent addition to the MANA herbicide portfolio," said Downing. "Pruvin provides growers, their consultants and retailers with further value-priced options when building a full weed control program," Downing said. Pruvin is not registered for use in Arizona, and certain restrictions apply in California.
