AgroPages-American Vanguard Announces Substantial Expansion of Manufacturing Capacity for Key Product Lines-Agricultural news

American Vanguard Corporation, today announced that it will substantially expand its manufacturing capacity for the production of Metam Sodium and Metam Potassium products.
This new capability will commence operation in the third quarter of 2008 at American Vanguard’s Axis, Alabama production facility.
The Metam Sodium and Metam Potassium fumigants are used to control weeds, insects and soil borne diseases in fruit and vegetable crops. The Vapam and K-Pam brands are among the Company’s largest selling products, and the Company expects demand to remain strong in coming years.
Eric Wintemute, President & CEO of American Vanguard, commented, “Our Axis, Alabama production facility will provide improved logistical proximity to the substantial market for these products in the Southeast United States. The Company will continue to use proven process technology to assure consistent, high-quality output.
