2015 Pesticide safety and scientific use training project launched in Hainan, China

For spreading stewardship idea in China, further promoting "the zero growth of pesticide by 2020 raised by Ministry of Agriculture(MOA), China", and further improving the level of scientific and safety use of pesticide of farmers, realize the goal of pesticide quantity reduction, control disease and increase efficiency, guarantee the quality and safety of agricultural products, eco-environment safety and the safety of applying personnel, the "2015 pesticide safety and scientific use training project" were jointly launched by the National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center (NATESC), CropLife China(CLC) and Plant Protection Station of Hainan in the city of Sanya in Hainan province on 22nd Sept.



Totally, More than 50 guests, experts, technicians and people who come from member companies participated in the training opening ceremony, the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture(ICAMA）, China Crop Protection Industry Association(CCPIA), Hainan University, parts of plant protection stations of Hainan province, CropLife China, and Member companies.

Experts from Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(IPP, CAAS) and Croplife Asia(CLA）were invited to lecture on "Modern pesticide application technology and specification in China” and “Good Stewardship Practices for Pollinator Health”. The company Dasinong, the online cooperated partner of Croplife China introduced "the Safe Use Promotion on New Media", shared how to utilize the new media to spread the influence of pesticide safe use. The cartoon video of safety and scientific use pesticide has officially launched, which was co-producted by CropLife China and the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center(NATESC), for spread by parts of NATESC and member companies, also opened by public for volunteer activities using. Six trainers from member companies trained Label reading, PPE(Personal protection equipments), three rinses, empty package recycle, using and maintaining of Sprayer, IPM and resistance management, training materials introduction to all participants, after that, issued the training certificates to all.

Farmer's training at training site on 23rd - 24th Sept.

On 23rd - 24th September, in the 20 training sites of Sanya City and Baoting County in Hainan province, Trainers from 7 member companies of CropLife China trained for about 1000 farmers on pesticide safety and scientific use, and provided the farmer personal protective equipment, technical manuals of plant diseases and insect pests control, and pesticide safety and science using manuals, etc.

The on-site training was in a very warm atmosphere, trainer and local farmer had frequent interaction. Through the farmer training project, improved the farmer's behavior on pesticide misuse, enhance the local farmer's consciousness on personal safety protection, the training has achieved the expectation which previously set.
