AgroPages-EPA agreed phase-out of UPLs maneb-Agricultural news

The cancellations of the registrations of United Phosphorus’ products based on the ethylene bisdithiocarbamate (EBDC) fungicide, maneb has been accepted by US EPA. The company’s US subsidiary requested the move last year. The registrant may continue to sell or distribute existing stocks of maneb products with previously approved labeling until December 31, 2009.Third-party formulation is allowed until March 2010. United Phosphorus is seeking to extend the use of the EBDC fungicide, mancozeb, to crops previously served by maneb.
