Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) is proposing that the country's Ministry of Agriculture creates a "list of priorities" to speed up the release of agrochemicals, which would be set in case of urgency. The agency's idea is to allow fasten the registration of products that do not have similar in the Brazilian market, leaving the ones that are "abundant" in the market to the "end of the line" .

"We have to optimize our resources and go the really important molecules," toxicology general manager at Anvisa, Ana Maria Vekic, recognizes that there is a low registration of new molecules in Brazil. She justifies that currently there are nearly one thousand release requests at Anvisa, but just 24 technicians enable to do the assessments.

Ana Vekic says that Anvisa has "asked persistently that the Ministry of Agriculture respond what are the priorities". The Agrochemicals Director at the Ministry of Agriculture, Júlio Sergio de Britto, yet complains that there is a lack of employees to meet the demand.  "Many retirements have occurred and also several transfers of workers, so therefore, we have a personnel deficiency around 70% of what we had in five years and a very big demand on the evaluation of the procedures".
