Canada is becoming a hotbed of precision farming, as much as the U.S., and the rapid expansion of the Decisive Farming technology company appears to be an example.

The cloud-based My Farm Manager data platform from Decisive Farming can deliver variable rate technology (VRT) and other precision agronomy services to growers via ag retailer supply companies. Use of the platform has taken off since its introduction in August of last year.

Decisive Farming announced that Double Diamond Farm Supply will use My Farm Manager data platform to deliver services to growers through their six retail locations in Manitoba, Canada. This is the latest in Canadian companies signing contracts.

Double Diamond clients will now have access to a full suite of online farm management tools, allowing for retailer-to-grower data sharing and seamless communication at every step along the way, the precision services company noted.

Dale Houston, co-manager at Double Diamond, suggested the partnership with Decisive Farming is about creating efficiencies in the office and the field. He explains, “As farms continue to grow, there are two key things that are needed: a complete VRT program with tested and reliable results, and a web application that consolidates all the info on the farm.”

As Remi Schmaltz, CEO of Decisive Farming said, “In order to stay competitive, ag-retails and independent agronomists need to offer highly scalable precision agronomy services that are fully integrated with a grower data management platform.”
