China's agchem production slightly increased 3% in October 2014

According to National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China’s agrochemical production slightly increased 2.6% year-on-year to 314 thousand tons in October 2014. For the first ten-month of 2014, pesticide production increased by 4.0% to 3,046 thousand tons, versus the same period of last year.
In October, herbicides production recorded an increase of 7.4% to 150 thousand tons, accounting for 47.8% of the total, while insecticide production decreased by 9.9% to 47 thousand tons, making up 15.0% of the total. The production of fungicide was 17.0 thousand tons, up by 8.4% y-o-y, representing 5.4% of the total.
From January to October, herbicide production increased by 5.7% to 1,468 thousand tons, making up 48.2% of the total production. Insecticide was down 4.4% to 492 thousand tons,representing 16.2% of the total production volume. Fungicide grew 14.4% to 190 thousand tons, accounting for 6.2% of the total production volume.
