China's nine-month agchem trade records double-digit growth in 2014

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, pesticides import volume in September increased by 14.7% to 6 thousand tons, with import value up by 1.5% to $41.7 million. Pesticide export volume in September down by16.2% to 68 thousand tons, with value down by 17.7% to $247 million.

In the first nine month of 2014, the total volume of imported pesticides was up by 18.7% to 71 thousand tons, with value increased by 11.9% to $608 million. The export volume increased by 6.7% to 918 thousand tons, with value up by 14% to $3,280 million.

Import specifics

In September,fungicide volume increased by 11.9% to 2 thousand tons, with value $18.7 million. Herbicide import sharply decreased by 70.5% to 1 thousand tons. Insecticide volume was down 43.1% and value dipped by 0.1% to $6.21 million.

During the first nine months of 2014, the volume and value of fungicide import showed double-digit growth. The volume of fungicide was up by 18% to 25 thousand tons, with value increased 14% to $266 million. Herbicide volume was 21 thousand tons, recording a 14.2% increase in value to $129 million. Import volume of insecticide was9,000 tons (up 0.6%) and value was $135 million (up 2.4%).

Export specifics

In September, herbicide is the largest category, with volume down by 25.3% to 41 thousand tons and value of $127 million. The export volume of insecticide grew by 5.6% to 6.0 thousand tons. For fungicide, the volume rose by 5.8% to 6000 tons, with value of $31.0 million.

During the first nine months of 2014, all the agchems showed a double-digital growth. The export of herbicides was up 7.4% to 643 thousand tons and 13.1% to $2,068 million, in terms of volume and value respectively. Insecticide export volume recorded a 5.8% increase to 185 thousand tons,with value up 17.9% to $822 million. The export of fungicide increased by 5.1% in volume and 10.3% in value.
