Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (ISK) has applied to the New Zealand EPA to import fungicide Ranman (cyazofamid) for the control of various fungal and soil-borne diseases of horticultural crops. It would be used as a foliar spray (400 g/L cyazofamid) for the control of late blight in potatoes, downy mildew on grapevines, brassicas, onions and cucurbits, blights in tomatoes and peppers, and specific soil-borne diseases in carrots and other vegetable crops.

The substance is manufactured in Japan or France and will be imported fully labelled and packaged in sealed HDPE (High-density polyethylene) containers. Cyazofamid has been registered for use in the USA, Europe and Japan. The New Zealand EPA call for public comment until November 18th.
