The sales of agricultural inputs including pesticide had a fall of 30% in the province of Buenos Aires of Argentina compared to the same period of 2013, according to data from Cedasaba (Entrepreneurial Chamber of Distributors of Agrochemicals, Seeds and Related in the province of Buenos Aires). Local businessmen said that this is happening because of diverse factors, such as the low commodity prices, a higher necessity of financing - due to higher production costs.

"There are more expenditures and the farmer needs to capitalize more than last year. However, there is a lower availability of funds in the banks, added by climatic setback in the region", noted by Cedasaba, which congregates 104 companies that sell products with big inputs, those whose income is on an average of US$ 5 to US$ 20 million yearly. Cedasaba also mentioned the political and economic situation of the country is also one of factors for the input fall.
