AgroPages-Israels MA Inds names Erez Vigodman CEO from 2010-Agricultural news

MA Industries, the worlds largest maker of agrochemicals, said on Sunday it named Erez Vigodman as its new chief executive effective Jan. 1, 2010.

Vigodman last month said he was stepping down as CEO of Strauss Group, Israels second largest food maker, later in 2009 after eight years on the job.

Avraham Bigger, MAs chairman, has served as CEO for the past three years.

"Avraham Bigger as active chairman and Erez Vigodman as CEO are an excellent team who will know how to lead the company together toward further growth and global expansion, with the goal of making it a world leader in the agrochemical sector," Nochi Dankner, chairman of the IDB Holding Corp , said in a statement. IDB is the parent of MA.

MA, also known as Makhteshim Agan, earlier in May reported a fall in first-quarter profit to $78.2 million on flat sales of $722.3 million.
