AgroPages-China released first list of eco-friendly glyphosate producers-Agricultural news

China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) recently released the first list of environmentally compliant glyphosate manufacturers. These four companies include Zhenjiang Jiangnan Chemicals, Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical and Chemicals, Jiangsu Youth Chemical, and Hubei Taisheng Chemical.

MEP announced in July 2013 to inspect the environmental impact of the glyphosate herbicide manufacturers for the purpose of improved pollution control. The inspection covers the compliance of waste water, waste solid and waste gas treatment while focusing on waste water treatment. MEP planned to complete the glyphosate production environmental inspection by the end of 2015, to be followed by publication of names of compliant glyphosate producers.

The public comments for these four companies will be closed until June 20th 2014.
