The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Supply recently approved registration of OBNY® acaricide for the citrus crops, and it will be distributed in the country by Arysta LifeScience. The new molecule is new all around the world and just a few months ago it was introduced into Europe. It is scheduled to be released in the US by April.

The innovative molecule, with shock and long residual action, was launched worldwide in citrus crops. It is effective in all stages of Brevipalpus mites, and provides maximum effectiveness in Citrus leprosis virus control. It is foreseen that the product will be available on the market by April.

OBNY ® is a high-effectiveness acaricide, with a totally innovative formula: a new chemical group and new active ingredient, with unique action on the market, being effective for the control of all phases of Brevipalpus mites as it works throughout the whole plant and fruit with a prolonged action. "This is a key differential, as it allows flexibility of application at different times of the year. This is a new concept of management against Brevipalpus mites, which will help the national citrus agriculture to achieve greater productivity, quality and profitability ", said the Manager of Products and Markets HF, Eduardo Figueiredo.

Figueiredo explained that the rotation of products is very important when treating the mites in order to avoid resistance. "Producers gain a new and effective option in the management of the Brevipalpus mite, which will bring higher performance and ensure longevity and reliability to the treatment" he said.

According to Marcelo Zanchi, Brazil Marketing Manager of Arysta LifeScience, the citrus chain, especially the one in Brazil, is very professional and different, which motivates and justifies the investments of the company in launching this acaricide. "The importance of citrus for the Brazilian agribusiness goes beyond foreign currencies exchange and the jobs that the industry generates, it is a sector in which we are world leaders and technology producers; Arysta, as one of the leading companies in this market, stays focused on the strategy of providing distinctive solutions that increase productivity and profitability for the citrus producers ", completed Zanchi.
