Dow AgroSciences was the highlight in Brazil’s Cocamar 2014, the "Soy Solution" platform, a broad package of products to meet the needs of the Brazilian farmer. For weed-resistance handling of species such as horseweed, common enough in South, Southeast and Midwest regions, Dow AgroSciences provides the DMA, and Prestige and Spider products. In the case of Helicoverpa plague that has struck a large number of crops, Dow AgroSciences brings defensive Tracer with recognized control effectiveness, besides other insecticides such as Intrepid to control complex of caterpillars in soybean crops.

POWERCORETM technology, the first maize with five stacked genes approved in Brazil against major pests and weeds was one of the highlights at the fair. With a development period of approximately 8 years it was released in 2012 and the technology provides greater security and convenience in controlling the main target pests of maize and an increase in productivity of corn between 5-10%, depending on the technological level of the crop and weather conditions.

In addition to the broad portfolio of hybrids already established in the off-season for earliness, health and productive potential, Dow Seeds released two new hybrids, 2B810PW and 2B610PW seeking maximum yields for both summer and off-season.

Drift of pesticides: Interactive Simulation

One of the highlights of Cocamar 2014 is the space for the information center related to correct and safe use of pesticides.

Among the point of awareness is the drift of pesticides, which can affect sensitive crops that are near the area of application. The elimination of the problem is one of the most important points for Dow AgroSciences in its responsible application programs.

In partnership with UNESP (Sao Paulo State Univertisy), Dow AgroSciences has developed a device that simulates real conditions of wind and drop sizes of applications, while still allowing the actual visualization of the effect of using each type of technology (tip and pressure work) according to the wind speed at the moment of application.

Known as "drift simulator" the equipment is used in all the trainings of the Responsible Application Program, sponsored by Dow AgroSciences and it was also available during Cocamar 2014. Besides the simulator, videos, interactive games and tablets integrate the connectivity of the knowledge platform developed especially for the event.
