Lindsay introduced FieldNET for wireless micro-irrigation

Lindsay Corporation introduced FieldNET for wireless micro-irrigation management, allowing growers access and control of their entire irrigation operation at any time and from anywhere.

“FieldNET for wireless micro-irrigation management is a true game-changer,” said Reece Andrews, new technology product manager at Lindsay. “We’re excited to make this award-winning irrigation management system available to drip and micro-irrigation users, helping growers reduce risk and save labor, water, energy and chemical use.”

A new addition to FieldNET is Multi-Control, which provides growers with 4-in-1 control of their entire irrigation system, including management and control of pumps and valves, fertilizer and chemical injectors, filter flush capabilities, and frost protection plans.

Multi-Control, a Growsmart by Lindsay product, is an easy-to-use wireless irrigation controller that acts as the point of connection in the field, making the remote control over irrigation pumps, valves, filters and injectors possible.

“The wireless system is especially useful since it can irrigate individual zones within a field without the need to trench in miles and miles of wire,” Andrews said.

The integrated 4-in-1 controller enables growers to quickly schedule flush cycles to run automatically by operation time or pressure differential, easily set up or adjust crop temperature protection plans as conditions change, and have unlimited control of water, fertilizer and chemical use.

“The irrigation controller on FieldNET is an industry first,” Andrews said. “You can easily control your entire system from anywhere with an Internet connection using the FieldNET Apps for smartphones or tablets or Internet browser instead of trying to decipher and use the limiting interfaces of traditional irrigation controllers.”

Andrews said the system was developed around such concepts as music playlists and drag-and-drop features that are familiar to most users. The patent-pending, slide-out Quick Tray control appears on demand to easily manage functions without ever leaving the main map view.

FieldNET for wireless micro-irrigation management can be used to detect a problem with an irrigation system, such as leaking or clogged lines, and alert operators to take appropriate action. It also allows growers to monitor and record water usage, energy usage, tank or pond levels, and has expansion capabilities with Growsmart plug-and-play add-ons.

Introduced for the first-time at this year’s World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, Multi-Control for wireless micro-irrigation management was named one of the expo’s Top Ten New Products of 2014.

Andrews added, “This award carries special meaning for us since the judges were farmers and industry professionals, and confirms that we are right on target with our market research by offering this new product to the micro-irrigation industry.”

FieldNET for wireless micro-irrigation is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Russian.
