AgroPages-EU extends approvals of 7 pesticide ais-Agricultural news

On Aug 7, 2013, the European Commission announced to extend the approvals of 7 pesticide active ingredients, in order to allow applicants sufficient time to complete the renewal procedure for renewing plant protection product authorisations.They are: the insecticides, chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos-methyl; the fungicides, mancozeb, maneb and metiram; and the herbicides, MCPA and MCPB.

The current approvals of the ais will expire between 30 April 2016 and 30 June 2016. Applications have been submitted for the renewal of the approval of these active substances. European Commission has proposed to extend the expiry dates for MCPA and MCPB to 31 October 2017 and for the other ais to 31 January 2018.

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication date.
