Australia approval for Valent's PGR s-abscisic acid

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recently approved the plant growth regulator (PGR), s-abscisic acid, applied by the subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical, Valent Australia. The product is manufactured by Chinese agrochem company Lomon biotechnology.
S-abscisic acid is a naturally occurring plant growth regulator that enhances plant resistance to environmental stress such as cold, drought, disease, and salinity through inducing innate stress-resistant system. It also helps to reduce the chemical pesticide applications and improve the quality of agriculture products, makes it a valuable product in the field.
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Institute of Biology developed the production technique of S-abscisic based on a 5-ton scale of fermentation tank in 1992. The technique patent and more appliation patents of the product are held by Lomon biotechnology.
"The s-abscisic acid has also been registered in other countries like US and Japan and is in plan to enter into Brazil and Europe market in the future." Lomon biotechnology introduced.
