New Zealand EPA seeking submissions on use of new antibiotic Kasumin 2L
Date:06-25-2013
The New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is seeking submissions on an application to approve a new antibiotic spray for kiwifruit and other crops to treat bacterial diseases such as PSA.
Hokko Chemical Industry Co has applied to import water-based antibiotic KASUMIN 2L from Japan for sale to orchardists and spraying contractors.
It says the antibiotic has fewer hazards and lower risks for users and consumers than other treatments such as streptomycin, which is currently used.
The application is open to public comment until July 24th.
