Bayer CropScience Canada launches four new InVigor canola hybrids
Date:06-24-2013
Bayer CropScience announced the registration of four new InVigor® canola hybrids for the 2014 season.
“InVigor has consistently raised the bar for hybrid canola performance for over 17 years* and this season is no exception. 2014 looks to be another exciting year for InVigor growers and the entire Canadian canola industry as we introduce four new exceptional hybrids including two “200 series” InVigor hybrids to our already formidable lineup.” says Blaine Woycheshin, Manager, Oilseed Crops – InVigor Seed for Bayer CropScience. “With the breadth and depth of our offering, we feel confident that there is an InVigor hybrid to fit every farm’s needs.”
The two new “200 series” mid-season InVigor hybrids both exhibited top performance in 2011 and 2012 trials. InVigor L252 yielded 110% of the NEW check hybrids (InVigor 5440 and Pioneer® Hi-Bred 45H29) in the 2011 and 2012 WCC/RRC** registration trials and was the highest yielding long season zone hybrid in Bayer CropScience internal trials in the past two years. Similarly, InVigor L261, yielded 107% of the NEW check hybrids (InVigor 5440 and Pioneer Hi-Bred 45H29) in the 2011 and 2012 WCC/RRC registration trials in the past two years and was the highest yielding hybrid in the mid-season zone from Bayer CropScience internal trials. Both hybrids display the same superior lodging resistance as InVigor L130 and are anticipated to be top performers across Western Canada.
Additionally, 2014 marks the official launch of the first ever InVigor hybrid with built-in sclerotinia tolerance. As the first line of defense against sclerotinia, InVigor L160S combines valuable sclerotinia tolerance with all of the benefits of the LibertyLink® system plus the yield potential of an InVigor.
Last but certainly not least is the 2014 Western Canadian launch of a new ‘game-changing’, pod shatter reduction hybrid. InVigor L140P will help growers maximize yield performance while mitigating losses associated with pod shatter. This new hybrid allows growers to consider delayed swathing or straight cutting. With the enhanced yield protection of InVigor L140P growers will have more freedom and flexibility in making their most crucial harvest management decisions.
“As the InVigor brand continues to evolve, we at Bayer CropScience want to thank growers for their continued support and look forward to showcasing our future innovations through our extensive Demonstration Strip Trial program and our 2013 Evolution summer tours.” adds Woycheshin.
