DuPont introduces cyantraniliprole in China
Date:05-31-2013
Dupont has recently introduced a new insecticide marketed as Beineiwei for vegetables in Guangdong province, China. The product is formulated as 10% cyantraniliprole (trade name: Cyazypyr) oil-based suspension concentrate, and it has been dubbed the “Ferrari of pesticides” due to its high cost and high added value.
Cyantraniliprole is an advanced benzamides insecticide firstly developed by Dupont, which is also a broad-spectrum insecticide to controll mandibulate insect as well as sucking, rasping and licking mouthparts pests. Cyantraniliprole has demonstrated unique and effective control of whitefly, aphids, psyllids, leafminers, beetles, and other major species of Lepidoptera pests, resulting in excellent plant protection in crop stems and growing fruit.
Dupont received the registration of the product in China in September last year, for use on onions and Chinese cabbages. DuPont expects to gain registrations of the product in 20 countries by the end of this year.
