China gives green light to Bacillus amyloliquefaciens

Chinese Hi-Tech crop science company Shanxi Jialunduo CropScience recently received the production license of a microbial fungicide (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) issued by Ministry of agriculture of China, becoming the first company to obtain the production license in China.
Microbial fungicide Bacillus amyloliquefaciens produces a variety of antimicrobial substances with wide bactericidal spectrum, delivering both preventive and curative activity. It has been proven to be effective against the diseases in crops, vegetables and melons and fruit. More importantly, the fungicide also helps to reduce chemical pesticide use to ensure food safety.
Currently, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens series water-based fungicides (brand name: Double Nickle ) developed by Certis US are registered for use on various crops and melons and fruit against powdery mildew. The wettable powder produced by Shanxi Jialunduo with 1 billion living spore/g is registered to control rice blast fungus.
