In the first quarter of the year it sent to the environment 9,279 tons of empty pesticide containers in a friendly way due to the distribution channels and public power backup Campo Limpo System has (reverse logistics of empty pesticide containers). It was founded by Brazilian farmers and manufacturers, represented by the National Institute for Processing Empty Containers (inpEV).
The containers amount achieved in Brazil this quarter is similar to the same period in 2012 (9,481 tons). A small variation occurs due to logistical issues related to cargo transportation, which make it difficult or impossible to send the material to the final destination in some states.
The main states that lead the final destination in this first quarter of 2013 were Mato Grosso, Sao Paulo, Goias, Parana, Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia, which all together account for 79% of total taken off the fields in Brazil. Rondonia, Rio Grande do Norte and Maranhao were the states that had higher percentage growth in the number of pesticides containers sent to the final destination.
